Since its grand opening in 1994, Stephanie's has been the hot spot for upscale dining in the Back Bay. Owner Stephanie Sokolove, has create a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a menu full of updated and modern comfort food. The restaurant is deceivingly large, with several rooms for groups of all sizes. It also has a full bar and cozy fireplace for folks to gather for a drinks or some appetizers. I made a reservation for a group of 8, and they were very accommodating. We got a round table at the front window, which was a perfect space for our group with a view of Newbury Street (great people watching).
The menu was a good size, not to overwhelming, and every option looked amazing. We started off with a bountiful bread basket, overflowing with quite the variety! I chose a fresh scone with raisins, which tasted a lot like my mom's Irish Soda Bread but was better (sorry mom).
My sister had told me that they have a Truffle Mac and Cheese with Prosciutto that is supposed to be unreal- so my decision was easy. TIP- The menu actually only lists regular mac and cheese, so make sure you let your server know you want the truffle mac and cheese!
This place does not disappoint and totally lives up to its reputation. Great portions (I even took home a doggie bag- which I am devouring right now), great service and the food is delish! I will definitely be going back there next chance I get! http://www.stephaniesonnewbury.com/
